I thought I would share some self-care tips. This time of year we are all a bit run down. Post holiday, wintry weather, busy with work, school, and life. All these things take a toll on health.
If you tend to be someone who gets sick a lot, you have a chronic illness, or if diseases seem to run in your family, take positive steps towards boosting your immunity.
Live a healthy lifestyle: It’s okay to have fun, but on the whole, you should strive to be healthy in all that you do. For instance, don’t smoke or do recreational drugs, and limit alcohol consumption to a minimum. Try to avoid stress as much as possible, and enjoy life as often as you can. When you are happy, and your body is happy, your immune system does its job more effectively.
Eat right: Anytime you want to improve your health, eating right and exercising is always the best way. For your immune system, eating a diet rich in a wide range of vitamins and minerals is key to helping it do its job efficiently. Exercise often: Getting plenty of exercise is also important in so many ways. There’s no need for extensive exercise programs or rigorous workout routines. Simply taking a walk at a brisk pace is enough to keep your immune system from getting sluggish.
Get plenty of sleep: If you think sleep is overrated, think again. Your body uses the time you spend sleeping to repair and heal. When you don’t get at least seven hours of good sleep a night, your body can’t restore itself properly, which leads to a host of health problems.
Build and maintain healthy relationships: Emotional well-being plays a big role in physical well-being, so make sure you take the time to stop and smell the roses, hug those you love and spend plenty of time with the ones that make you laugh.
